Vaterländische Dichtungen.
Mit Henkerblut, Franzosenblut —
O süßer Tag der Rache!
Das klinget allen Teutschen gut,
Das ist die große Sache.
Laßt wehen, was nur wehen kann,
Standarten wehn und Fahnen!
Wir wollen heut' uns Mann für Mann
Zum Heldentode mahnen;
Auf! fliege, hohes Siegspanier,
Voran den kühnen Reihen!
Wir siegen oder sterben hier
Den süßen Tod der Freien.
Emst Moritz Arndt.
112. Der Landsturm. (1813.)
Die Feuer sind entglommen
Auf Bergen nah und fern,
Ha, Windsbraut, sei willkommen,
Willkommen, Sturm des Herrn!
O zieh durch unsre Felder
Und reinige das Land,
Durch unsre Tannenwälder,
Du Sturm, von Gott gesandt.
Ihr Türme, hoch erhoben
In freier Himmelsluft,
So zauberisch umwoben
Vom blauen Wolkenduft,
Wie habt ihr oft gerufen
Die andachtsvolle Schar,
Wenn an des Altars Stufen
Das Heil zu finden war!
Die Wetter oft sich brachen
Von eurem Glockenklang:
Nun führt ihr andre Sprachen,
Das klingt wie Brautgesang.
