First history books from partner libraries online

During the latter half of this year the digitisation project GEI-Digital has been incorporating holdings from external libraries. Extensive research in bibliographic directories revealed several hundred works located in a number of German libraries. We contacted the relevant libraries and invited them to participate in the project. The first volumes have now been digitised and made available online.

The innovative GEI-Digital project intends to digitise all relevant imperial-era history textbooks in Germany, including those held in external collections. The project team are aiming to virtually conflate the widely distributed holdings in order to provide users with one coherent collection.
