Digitisation of the Berlin State Library’s inventory successfully completed

The Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin State Library) has contributed 130 volumes to be digitised as part of the GEI-Digital project processing history textbooks from the German imperial period. The main focus of this collection from what was formerly the Königlichen Bibliothek (Royal Library) and subsequently the Preussischen Staatsbibliothek (Prussian State Library) is history textbooks for primary schools. History books from the German imperial period are very rare and many of these primary school books are not held by any other German libraries. The cooperation of the Berlin State Library has enabled us to significantly expand our collection of digitised history textbooks. An example can be viewed here.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Berlin State Library for the excellent collaborative work.
